Michael Head, AIA serves as the Secretary for OCA National. Michael joined the OCA Sacramento Board in 1999 and served as the chapter president for five years. Michael was on the OCA National Board for representing the Sacramento Chapter for six years; and served on the Communications and Branding Committee.

Michael is a founding member of the Reception at the Capitol, the Sacramento Regional Coalition for Tolerance and the Senior Lunar New Year Luncheon. Michael was a recipient of the 2005 OCA National/ GM Unsung Hero Award. Michael serves at the principal editor of the OCA Sacramento Newsletter and as the Historian & Curator of the Chapter’s archive. OCA’s mission of advocating for social justice and civil rights was a key reason that he joined the organization; although OCA focuses on the Asian Pacific Islander community, civil rights should be color blind and should be essential for all Americans.

Michael is a licensed Architect who has practice architecture in the Sacramento and Bay Area region for the past 33 years designing a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from hospitals, airports, research laboratories, bio containment laboratories, detention facilities, courtrooms, higher education, historic preservation, high rise office buildings, hotels, retail, residential  as well as campus and  community master planning. When Michael is not practicing architecture or volunteering for OCA and the community, he enjoys freehand sketching, watercolor painting and graphic design.
